Located in Princeton, Missouri, Sonnenschein Studio is not a commercial recording studio. It is a home studio that I set-up after finding absolutely no one that could record my music group, Steirkraft, in the way I wanted it to sound. Something was always lopsided in other people's recordings of us. After doing a lot of research I found that most recording studios and there technicians, with a few notable exceptions, are not set up to accurately record traditional music.  And so, I set up my own home recording studio that has been going strong for over a year.  As word spread, and invariably word gets out in small rural communities, I had local and not-so-local individuals and groups contact me to make custom sound recordings.

I run Sonnenschein out of a room in my own home. It is a cozy one-on-one environment. If you are looking for the fancy studio that provides an instant vanity effect, Sonnenschein is not for you. But if you are looking for that personal touch and a recording engineer that really cares about you and your music, you have found what you are looking for with Sonneschein. No, I don't have all the bells and whistles and I restrict recordings to solo acts and small groups that are conducive to my studio's recording environment and equipment. On the other hand, I do make super quality recordings and pride myself in the final mix. I take an active part in the creative process and I enjoy each project from idea through to implementation. Most importantly, I work personally with you and your group to attain the final results that you want.
